The Hobbit: Aidan Turner

Aidan Turner
(Sent: 15.10.12 / Received: 22.05.13)

Aidan plays 'Kili' in the 'Hobbit'-Trilogy. He also starred in the BBC version of 'Being Human'.

10 of 13 dwarves, we're getting closer. Probably should send out another set letters to the rest as they just started additional shooting in New Zealand...

Keith Lockhart

Keith Lockhart
(Sent: 06.05.13 / Received: 22.05.13)
Keith Lockhart is the principal conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra (following John Williams) and the BBC Concert Orchestra. I was at a concert of American music he conducted in Cologne, Germany a few weeks ago. Also enjoy his film music concerts at the BBC Proms. (He had to put an additional 5 Cents on the envelope, US Postal prices went up again without me knowing *sighs*)

Billy Elliot Triple-post

Billy Elliot triple-post
Deka Walmsley, Gillian Bevan, Killian Donnelly
(Sent: May 2013 / Received: May 2013)
I thought I'd post these together, I have been following the London production for some years now and this is the cast I saw a few weeks ago, Deka Walmsley (Dad) and Gillian Bevan (Mrs Wilkinson) I already saw multiple times, glad I caught Killian Donnelly (Tony) as he (and Gillian) have already left the show again. Also got some very nice letters back. Pictures 2 and 3 are from this years Laurence Olivier Awards where Billy Elliot won the BBC2 Audience Award. Hooray and all the best to them!

Götz Otto

Götz Otto
(Sent: 16.02.12 / Received: 17.05.13)
German actor Götz Otto did a lot of international films, including 'James Bond: Tomorrow Never Dies' and the SciFi/Nazi parody 'Iron Sky' (pictured above). He added one headshot, nice :D

Roger Allam

Roger Allam
(Sent: 06.05.13 / Received: 15.05.13)
Roger Allam was in basically everything, too much to list really. 'The Queen' and 'The Iron Lady' (pictured above), 'Game of Thrones', 'Endeavour', did lots of theatre (Globe Theatre London e.g.) and radio. And of course he was the original Javert in 'Les Misérables' some 28 years ago.

Haydn Gwynne

Haydn Gwynne
(Sent: 07.05.13 / Received: 15.05.13)
Haydn Gwynne was the original Mrs Wilkinson in 'Billy Elliot' in London and on Broadway, saw her a few weeks ago in 'The Audience' where she plays Maggie Thatcher opposite Helen Mirren. That was a few days before Mrs. Thatcher's death.

Ruby Bentall

Ruby Bentall

Ruby also starred in 'Peter & Alice' with Ben Wishaw and Judi Dench, also liked her in 'Lark Rise to Candleford', where these pictures are from.

Ben Wishaw

Ben Wishaw

I saw Ben Wishaw in London two months ago in 'Peter & Alice' with Judi Dench. He also starred in 'Perfume', 'The Tempest' and the last Bond-film. And he won a BAFTA just last Sunday. :D

Dan & Jeff

Dan & Jeff
(Sent: 15.04.13 / Received: 02.05.13)
Saw Dan & Jeff's show 'Potted Potter' for the second time last month and enjoyed it as much as the last time some years back. They're just great and hilariously funny :D

Shakespeare Megapost

When I was in London last year I saw a double-bill of 'Twelfth Night' and 'Richard III' at the Apollo Theatre, both productions originally from the Globe Theatre in Elizabethan style with an all male cast...same cast for both plays, with the addition of Stephen Fry as Malvolio in 'Twelfth Night'. I wrote to some of the actors and today the last one arrived back, so I thought I'd post them all at once.

Mark Rylance
(Sent: 31.12.12 / Received: 10.01.13)
Considered by many people as the greatest theatre actor of his generation I can only agree: his performance was magnificient, both as Richard and as Olivia.

Samuel Barnett
(Sent: 31.12.12 / Received: 08.01.13)
Best known for being one of the 'History Boys' it was great to see Samuel live on stage.

Roger Lloyd-Pack
(Sent: 31.12.12 / Received: 08.01.13)
Roger Lloyd-Pack played a multitude of roles and it's alway great to see him in anything, favourites include 'The Vicar of Dibley' and he also played Barty Crouch Sr. in the 'Harry Potter' series.

Johnny Flynn
(Sent: 31.12.12 / Received: 02.05.13)
The final one of the set to arrive: Johnny Flynn, who was the only one who had female roles in both plays...though in 'Twelfth Night' it was one of the 'Girl pretending to be a Boy' roles. Still fun :D He is also a singer in a band.

Stephen Fry
(Sent: 31.12.12 / Received: 26.01.13)
And finally Stephen Fry who was very much being himself, very Stephen Fry-y ;) But in a good way.
